It might make you think of flat tires on the side of the road, getting lost in a new place, complaints about the choice of music and the temperature of the vehicle, the very slow pace of the semi-truck that you just can’t seem to get around -- it's enough to make you stay home the next time you are tempted to go on a journey. Miles and miles go, yet your destination doesn't seem any closer.
And then there’s a glimmer of hope…a rest stop! A place to stretch, get refreshed, and pause from the long journey for a moment.
The 2009 Peacemaker Conference focuses on the theme “Church on a Journey,” so let this event be your rest stop as you continue going forward. Take the time to stretch your spiritual muscles, be refreshed, and to focus your eyes again on Jesus. Conflicts may cause flats in your relationships, grumbling from those around you makes the journey seem difficult, but the GPS of the gospel guides you to persevere and to glorify God in the midst of it.
